BUSINESS LEADERS - WE ARE SERVANTS OF THE SOCIETY
Key insights: The ultimate challenge for most executives and organizations is identifying new businesses to survive or support sustainable growth. Successful business leaders strive to do good by addressing societal needs. Global research suggests that employees and other stakeholders increasingly expect companies to take an active role in improving society by serving the community and earning support. Companies like Unilever, Phillips, and Patagonia strive to act as responsive thought leaders committed to action.
Keywords: Quoting my great grandfather H.J. Helkama (1905), the founder of the Finnish 118-year-old Helkama family of companies: “A business leader or owner is a servant of the community who earns a pay for being able to create something new, respectable and durable which the many customers need.”
INTRAPRENEURSHIP - IT'S TIME TO UNLEASH CREATIVE ACTIVISM
Key insights: The act of behaving like an entrepreneur within a corporation is what defines an Intrapreneur. As a business professional, an intrapreneur analyzes scenarios using creativity, collaborates, selects the best ideas, innovates, and always thinks about how to make the organization generate value for customers, employees, and other stakeholders. An intrapreneur thinks of the organization where s/he works as if it were their own business and shows resilience when adverse situations happen. With all these valuable characteristics, an intrapreneur becomes a powerful change agent, influencing other professionals with positive attitudes even when significant changes are necessary. The value and impact generated for the business are, at best priceless.

PERFORMANCE: LET'S LEARN TO LOVE SOLVING PROBLEMS
Key insights: Imagine if people working in your organization were genuinely customer-problem-centric while acting and behaving like it's their money and company. In an unpredictable and increasingly global competitive landscape, companies need to foster a culture of self-management by setting clear expectations and goals while motivating people to work diligently to accomplish sustainable and continuous success.
A high-performing organization typically attracts people who are firm believers in the culture and values of their employers and the surrounding society. They dare to fall in love with problems, apply a different approach to measuring performance,, and operate more independently in business decisions. They also ensure that performance metrics capture institutional knowledge and how it has been refined through data collection, analysis, and distribution through effective communication across all levels. The customer needs are the focal point of all actions, realizing that there are competing and substituting ways of solving the problem.
